Reluctantly the young man went to the worship service. Jim was all alone in a new town. He didn't know anyone at the church and his faith was just about gone.
Still, the need to be with people and to be in worship drew him to the church. The usher sat him next to a man old enough to be Jim's father and they had to share a hymnal. After worship they spoke long enough to exchange names and promise to "See you around...."
That simple introduction began a relationship between the young man and the widower in which both men found a Christian brother and the young man found a mentor. They became partners in faith and friends for life.
"I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel ..." Paul wrote.
