Ralph shared with his Sunday school class how his sister and her husband lived and
worked for many years at a home for children. What struck Ralph was how his sister
lived, trusting in the generosity of others. They had no income but totally depended on
others. There were times when they had to ask for donations. And there were times when
Ralph financially helped them out. Ralph admitted that he could never have lived like
that. He admired his sister and her husband.
During their lives this couple touched the lives of hundreds of troubled children and teens, who had no where else to go. They showed Christlike love in caring for them day in and day out. Ralph said that his sister certainly lived out her faith.
Now, years later, Ralph looks back on her life. According to worldly standards his sister and husband had nothing, but in another sense they had everything. Not only were they content "while others were chasing the dollar, they had a deep sense of joy," Ralph says, "deep down in the depths of their hearts."
They were a generous couple who gave of themselves in service to others and they were blessed.
