A problem that continually dogs...
Illustration
A problem that continually dogs us in the church is our seeming preference for mechanics over meaning. We hold to the thought that meaning is only reached through mechanics, that one needs to know the "how" of something in order to grasp its meaning. This is often the struggle people have with the resurrection. They want to know how it happened. But even when we know the "how" of a matter, we have scarcely said all there is to say about it. In fact, it might be held that we have said very little.
