A philanthropist approached an organization which operated a home for a number of disabled persons and offered to provide one special Christmas gift for each resident, if the residents would prepare a wish list for him.
When he received the gift lists, he was astonished to find that few of the residents included themselves personally. Some wrote down things money can't buy, like peace on earth, an end to world hunger, or loving families for children everywhere. Even when material things were listed, they were seldom for the individual; instead, they focused on one or more other people. Residents wrote things like, "I wish I could buy my parents a new home," or "I wish I could help my sister get through college."
The philanthropist was so impressed that he provided not only special gifts to the individual residents but scholarships and other funding to expand the organization's services to others in need. What kinds of items are on your personal wish list? If you knew God would answer one special prayer immediately, what would that prayer be and who would benefit most as a result?
