People throughout history have worshiped...

People throughout history have worshiped the sun. Such worship was common in ancient Greece, in Egypt, in Babylon, in Canaan, in India, and among the Eskimos, native Americans, Incas, and Aztecs of the western hemisphere. To this very day, New Age crowds, many clad in white, swarm the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan, Mexico, during the spring equinox. Arriving before dawn, these modern pilgrims wait outside the park until it opens. A steep climb and a turn to the east readies them to receive the sacred power of the sun when it is full on their faces.
