Paul gives a clear call to unity and acceptance of others in this passage. We seem to have a tendency to concentrate on the ways we are different from other people. Shift gears for a change, and begin to notice how much you are like other people. There is a story about a king who drove his bodyguards crazy because he loved to dress up in ordinary peasant clothing and go down into the villages of the kingdom to mingle with the people. The bodyguards were worried, afraid he would be assassinated or kidnapped, and it was impossible to protect him.
