Out of the ashes and debris of 9/11 has come a wonderful book. It is called The Impossible Will Take a Little While: A Citizen's Guide to Hope in a Time of Fear. It was written by Paul Rogat Loeb. Isaiah could easily have written this book. Out of the crumbling ruins of Israel's world, exile was inevitable. And in Isaiah 1-39 many scholars think that Isaiah could see the exile was clearly ahead. Surely there was despair in the prophet's heart. The whole theme of the book is a focus on God. He turned his people's attention to a larger picture than their current situation.
