Our two-year-old son...

Our two-year-old son was unhappy with his mother and me because we had reprimanded him on a matter. To share with us the depth of his frustration, he marched into the living room where he proceeded to plop himself down on the floor, with his back to the television. This was a sure sign of his disgust with all life in general! A familiar purple dinosaur, one of our son's television favorites, was unable to turn the sad situation -- or our son -- around. Then a surprising and joyous moment swept in on us all. The children who comprise the regular actors and actresses in the show our son wasn't watching began to sing a familiar, joyful song. Our son knew the tune but what really gripped his attention was the fact that the children were singing in more than one language, simultaneously. That did it! Our son spun around on the carpet, faced the screen, and joined in his own version of the song of joy. Gone were the tears. Joy had come in its fullness, and there was reason to celebrate life anew. -- Saxon
