In our lesson today from Romans, our Lord urges us not to judge one another. It's so easy
to look at those around us and say, "This one isn't doing this right" and "That one isn't
doing that right."
We all need to stop judging each other and leave that up to the Lord. After all, we each have enough to do to take care of how we live our own lives, knowing that, as verse 10 reminds us, we will each stand some day before God.
Frank Laubach, the author of Prayer, the Mightiest Force in the World, says that what we do need to do is rather to pray for each other. When we pray for others, he says,
* our selfishness melts away,
* our thoughts become wider and higher,
* we bless humankind, and
* we find the joy of giving.
(From Frank Laubach, Prayer: The Mightiest Force in the World [Old Tappan, New Jersey: Fleming H. Revell, 1946], pp. 121-122)
