One of the worst things that can happen on payday is for workers to go around and compare paychecks. There is probably nothing that can destroy morale quicker than that. Because what happens? People look at their own paychecks and are somewhat satisfied. But then they go over and look at the check of the fellow who works across from them, and they see that the person is getting paid more. And they know that they work harder than that person.
