Once a wife decided not...

Once a wife decided not to drop hints about their anniversary to her forgetful husband. She always had to remind him. This time she was not going to do so. If just once he could remember by himself. However, the day of their anniversary came and there were no signs that he had remembered. A week passed, and still no sign that he had remembered.
Finally he came home from the office early one day and gave her a box of candy, a dozen long-stemmed roses, and a ticket for two for a dinner theater. He did not say a word, just handed them to her one by one, grinning from ear to ear. She, with stone face, said nothing.
Then, when he handed her a greeting card, she said with a gruff voice, "What is this for?" Upon opening the card, she read the little note: "Dearest Judy, today we have been married exactly nine years, one week and three days. All my love, Mike." The gifts were nice, but since they did not come when she thought they should, she had 10 days of disappointment.
So we are disappointed and often angry when God does not act when we think God should act. Isaiah spoke to those who were waiting, but who had become discouraged in waiting so long, thinking God must have forgotten them.
