In the Olivet Discourse also found in Matthew 24-25 and Mark 13 a report is given of what the last days on earth will be like before the return of the Lord. From carefully reading the reports by the synoptic gospel writers, it is clear that as the parousia nears, the people of God will experience testing, hardship, danger, and suffering. All of these things will occur before the final victory of Christ is achieved.
