Donald Sadoway, 62, is an MIT engineer. His specialty is liquid-metal batteries. During his lectures he gives the students a glimpse into the future of energy. When he does laboratory work, he is the only expert on the team. The other team members are students. This is because he considers his real life's work to develop students into the future engineers of our society. Sadoway said, "In a battery, I strive to maximize electrical potential. When mentoring, I strive to maximize human potential."
Application: Jesus taught us that "you shall love your neighbor as yourself." Loving one's neighbor comes in many forms, one of which is working with an individual to maximize his or her human potential.
