When we lived in Nepal there were families being torn apart by intermarriage. If a member of a Hindu family turned Christian or married a Christian, they could be thrown out and disowned. They lost jobs and support. So when some converted they kept it a secret. Several wanted to come to America to find a husband or wife. It takes much courage to be a Christian there. Some of my students worked a miracle. They converted their family and sometimes their whole community. One student planted 100 churches. He estimated that there were now over 5,000 converts because of his work.
