Nothing brings people closer together than a shared tragedy. Such was the case in the spring of 1993 when two pitchers who played for the Cleveland Indians were tragically killed in a boating accident. The baseball community rallied around the families of the two players and although the baseball community could not replace the two players they could provide support and love to the families. For these two families the competitive support of baseball was transformed into a support system to help them during their shared tragedy.
