Norman was in his mid-seventies. He had worked 45 years for the railroad and, now that he was retired, he had time on his hands and he couldn't take it. Norman looked for things to do. He helped the widows who lived in the neighborhood. He did things around his church: he replaced burned-out light bulbs; he shoveled snow; he cut lawns; he trimmed trees.
When people thanked him, Norman always took the opportunity to give thanks to God that he was able to do the work. He also took the opportunity to invite people to worship with him at his church.
