Non-affirmation of affirmative action
As the senior minister of a church in the city, I find it extremely difficult and rather
uncomfortable to write an article in opposition to affirmative action. Frankly, the mere
suggestion of it sounds unchristian or at least a pontifical pundit made by a minister
whose parishioners average six figure salaries and dress down day means wearing
designer clothing by Prada, Boateng, Duffy, or Basilian. Yet, after examining and living
during the age of affirmative action, I must admit a word of challenge needs to be
shouted and not whispered.
