Most assumed him guilty. Courts reached opposing verdicts. I refer to the juvenile
delinquent, running back, sometime actor, and former rental car pusher. We based our
theories on Mr. Simpson's character, the brand of shoes he wore and other arguable
evidence.
It's difficult to imagine, but a far more important trial is coming. No one will be barred. Just the opposite. All will receive subpoenas. You'll be there, too, whether you want to or not. On that day our secrets -- everything we've thought and done -- will be uncovered. Greed, thefts, gossip, hate, drunkenness, fornication, and selfishness will be known. You won't fool, bamboozle, or intimidate the judge Johnny Cochran-style, either. All of us will stand speechless. That day could come as soon as tomorrow or it might be a while. But it's coming. Are you ready?
How do we prepare? We stop doing wrong. We trust in Jesus. We act purely, honestly, and lovingly, as he did. If we do these things, God, the judge, will change the guilty verdict we deserve to innocent.
