In the musical You're A Good Man Charlie Brown Charlie sings a song called: "I'm awful glad I'm me."
It is not easy for Charlie to sing that song. Life is not easy for him. He knows that he is not perfect. No matter how well he pitches, his baseball team never gives him any support. And his close friend, Lucy, is constantly reminding Charlie in her own insidious way that he is far from perfect. Nonetheless, Charlie is able to sing: "I'm awful glad I'm me."
