In the movie Election, we are introduced to Tracy Flick, who is the very definition of an overachiever. She is the president of every club to which she belongs. She is active in school sports and extracurricular activities, she volunteers to help the poor, and she gets excellent grades. Tracy Flick is the first one to raise her hand, no matter what question the teacher asks. When she decides to run for student body president, no one will run against her because the whole school assumes she will win.
But even though she seems to have it all, no one really likes Tracy. Her teachers are threatened by her intensity, and her classmates are intimidated by her accomplishments. Everyone in town keeps Tracy at arm's length because of her obsessive overachieving.
In the end though, Tracy Flick becomes an advisor to her state senator because she has such a drive to succeed. A prophet is never accepted in his own hometown.
