Modern technology invented a camera...

Modern technology invented a camera which can photograph the electromagnetic field which surrounds every living thing. Under most circumstances that field is not evident to the human eye. But, as every kid knows, under the right conditions you can scuff your feet along a rug and "spark" another person. It is a great way to get their attention. To hear the Acts of the apostles tell it God did no small amount of scuffing-the-rug to spark attention. On Pentecost the resulting aura (as parapsychologists might have called it) was described as "tongues of fire." With such a positively charged field of ions who could fail? That there was a repetition of the Pentecost event, this time for non-Jews, is a fact sometimes lost to us. There is no aura this time to catch their eyes, just words. But such words! Words which declare that it is possible, for even those we think unlikely to embody the Spirit to do so. Who are we to deny them?
