A missionary arrived in the Lunda country and was welcomed by a native named Kayeka. The missionary informed Kayeka that he was happy to have been assigned to the Lunda, and when the rains ceased they would move farther into the interior. Kayeka was overjoyed, telling the missionary that it had been the predominent desire of his heart for years that a missionary be sent to his people. He revealed that he had been praying diligently for someone to be sent for seven to ten years. The missionary revealed that it had been seven years since God laid on his heart a definite call to the mission field. As the gaunt, worn, humble native related his years of unwearying prayer that a missionary be sent to his people, the missionary was overcome with the overwhelming conviction that God had placed on him the burden of importunate intercession which had prayed him into Central Africa.
It had happened quietly, and without spectacle. But the seeds sown by a faithful believer had come to fruition.
