On a mission trip to Washington, D.C., a high school youth group got the chance to see the results of a job well done.
It was during the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. One of the guards had finished his tour of duty and this was his final ceremony. After the changing of the guard was complete, the soldier returned to his commanding officer and stood at attention while a firm handshake was exchanged. Then the soldier removed his white gloves and with a slow and deliberate attitude, returned them, his duty done. With a crisp salute exchanged, the soldier's work was complete.
Someday all Christians will do the same as we stand before God and receive our victory prize.
