In the mini-series, War...
In the mini-series, War And Remembrance, Professor Jastrow is a Jewish American philosophy professor who is caught in Europe as the war cranks up. It is interesting to watch his intellectual and moral struggle as eventually he finds himself helping the Nazis in order to keep his family out of the concentration camps. In one episode, Professor Jastrow gives a marvelous sermon on the book of Job. Jastrow points out that the Jewish nation has lasted 4,000 years. Once it was a mighty world power, and for a while stood as equal to the rest of the nations.
