Mary was upset with herself...
Illustration
Mary was upset with herself. Her sister was moving home. She should be happy, as happy as her mother was. But she wasn't. It just didn't make any sense. Since her father had died three years ago, Mary had taken care of her mother all by herself. She did everything for her mother. She talked to her on the telephone twice a day. She had her over for dinner two or three times a week. She bought her groceries, made her appointments and saw to it that she got to them, cleaned her apartment, and even handled her finances. Now that her sister was coming home she wouldn't have to do everything by herself. She should be happy that she was going to have help. But she wasn't. What was wrong with her?
