Loyalties to friends can be difficult to maintain. A little girl, about six, had two friends who did not know each other. One lived in the neighborhood and the other was the granddaughter of a neighbor who visited on occasion, and who eventually moved to a house on the next block. The little girl liked both her friends, and decided to introduce them so they could all play together. They did not like each other. Sometimes when playing with one, the friend would ask, "Am I your best friend?
