No words of our Lord echo with more reality than these words: "Follow me." In baptism, the gracious command (or invitation?) sounds forth, "Follow me." Children attached to the Body in worship, study and play learn what this unique kind of following means Students, vocationally and through life style, choose which way and when to follow. Hard ethical decisions, drudgeries in daily living, visions of God's great kingdom become ways of the following. ln life's diminishing years, the invitation looks straight through death where there is yet a voice saying, "Follow me." Which response do we have to our Lord's Word: faith or fear?
