Little Timmy sat in the kitchen floor playing with his cars and trucks. He seemed to be unaware of his mother who was busy working in the kitchen. Then, out of the blue he looked up at his mother and asked, "Mommy, do you love me?" His mother was startled at the suddenness of the question but she responded, "Yes, Timmy, I love you." Seemingly satisfied Timmy went back to his playing. A few moments later he asked again, "Mommy, do you love me?" "Yes, Timmy, mommy loves you a lot." Again Timmy went back to his playing. Finally a third time Timmy looked up at his mom and asked, "Mommy, do you really love me?" By this time his mother was becoming a little bit frustrated but she responded, "Yes, Timmy, I really love you!" Then with his big blue eyes looking into his mother's face, he said, "Show me." Putting her work aside his mother walked over, knelt down and held Timmy close to her and said, "Timmy, I really do love you!" Sometimes those of us who are Christians have a tendency to talk of God's love so much that the unbelieving world finds it easy just to tune us out. Our words become cheap. It is easy for us to talk a good line but actions always attract more attention. The world is full of little Timmys. They are sick and tired of hearing us simply saying, "I love you and God loves you." People all about us are crying out, "Do not just tell me that God loves me, show me!" -- Angus
