Little do we know how our words will affect someone who hears them. In Dayton, Ohio, last year a carload of young men were driving down the street one night when one of the young men in the car blurted out, "50 points if you hit that man in the crosswalk." The driver took him seriously and ran down the man in the crosswalk, killing him. The man in the crosswalk had a wife and several children. The driver of the car had a promising career ahead of him as a better than average student.
