Liars shall not enter the new Jerusalem. A pastor friend of mine said that he and his wife coached their children to tell a little fib on the phone when mom and dad were not home. "If they ask for me, and I'm not home, just say I'm in the shower." It was for the protection of the children so that no stranger who might call would find out that they were alone. One afternoon my friend and his wife were out of the house for a few minutes and the two kids were alone. A parishioner called and said she needed to speak with the pastor.
