Leo Braudy, English professor at the University of Southern California, comments: "I think we as an American culture have an (interest) in stories that will tie us all together. So much of what is going on in the news is about divisiveness and separatism." There is an "urge for coherence," as we live in this daily context and also as we approach the end of this decade/century/millennium. What a gift Christians have to offer in the gospel story, as we also wait for God's future to dawn upon us.
