In the last congregation I served, I remember the telephone ringing one morning just after eight o'clock. We were just finishing breakfast at our house. The call was for me. It was from a fellow, a relatively new member, who was calling from work. It was not a big thing, he assured me. He simply needed to talk for a few minutes. He needed to "defuse."
