Just as Paul was...

Just as Paul was so thankful for the joy he felt because of the Thessalonian Christian witness, so too Martin Luther King, Jr., expressed his profound appreciation for those "noble souls" who have become "partners in the struggle for freedom," to bring about racial equality and justice especially for the poor in our communities. Using biblical images, he describes "the leaven in the lump of the race. Their witness has been the spiritual salt that has preserved the true meaning of the Gospel in these troubled times." What joy do you bring to your fellow Christians in these troubled times? What leaven and salt do you provide the community in your Christian witness?
