John Meister, in a sermon...
Illustration
John Meister, in a sermon titled: "When God Speaks," offers this homely illustration: A mother is explaining to her son that God is everywhere at once. She asked him to imagine his body as the world. She then pinched his arm, cheek, and leg, asking each time, "Are you there?" Her son asked, "Mother, if God is everywhere, why doesn't it hurt God to cut a tree as much as to cut a person?" The wise mother responded, "Which would hurt more: To cut your finger or your fingernail, your hair or your head?" She told him that we do live in our fingernails and hair, but not as fully as in our fingers and head. -- Keller
