John did not have a high-school diploma (he had to drop out and go to work to help support his family). He did not speak with polished words (in fact he seldom spoke). John was too shy to teach a Sunday school class; too reserved to sing in the choir. But he lived the kind of life one could readily recognize as faithful. In worship every Sunday, a quiet giver of a tithe, a family man, John possessed deep faith and confidence in God.
