Joe Garagiola tells a story on Earl Weaver, a baseball manager. Weaver once saw one of his players coming out of a chapel near the ballpark. The player said, "Well, now I'm walking with God." Weaver said, "Great. Now if you could just learn to walk with the bases loaded." One of the problems with the Christian life is knowing you are walking with God when the world wants to see you walking with the bases loaded -- the world wants something from us, demands it, makes us suffer if we don't fit the right mold, toe the right mark, do enough work, have the right credentials, know the right people, or hit the ball far enough. All God wants is for us to seek him. That may not get us to first base in the world. -- Mosley
