Jimmy Carter was not reelected...

Jimmy Carter was not reelected to a second term as president of the U.S.A. The American people did not accept his presidential leadership, and they chose a very different leader for the next four years. His presidency ended after four years, but his service has continued. In 1976, he founded Habitat for Humanity, an organization that mobilizes volunteers to donate their resources and time to build homes for the poor. Habitat has built over 30,000 homes since its founding, including 19,000 homes outside the U.S.A. Jimmy Carter, former U.S. president and world leader, continues to lead through service by pounding nails, painting walls, and speaking out for the poor and homeless. He understands that leadership is service. And so, his world leadership continues. -- Spencer
