Emphasis Preaching Journal
Jim Crane, in his book...
Illustration
Jim Crane, in his book On Edge, has drawn one of his characters, hat in one hand, cigarette in the other, looking smugly into the heavens and saying, "If I worship you, Lord, will you give me peace of mind, fame, success in business? And will you give me a personal written guarantee of immortality for me and my family?" Suddenly, he stops, as if he has heard a voice from heaven, and moans, "Oh, I must worship you because you are God?" Remorselessly, stuffing his hands into his pockets, he shuffles off, muttering, "What kind of a deal is that?"
