Jerry is a traveling salesman. He covers the country several times each year, demonstrating his products, seeking retailers who will put his product on their shelves. Jerry never goes empty-handed. He always has a goodly supply of samples that he hands out to shopkeepers and their customers. A cell phone is considered indispensable to his work. It allows him to call ahead, check in with his home office, or call for a tow when his car breaks down. Jerry carries a laptop which allows him to stay connected via the internet, especially now that many hotels are "hotspots" for wireless access.
