Jean was badly in need of a friend. Her father had died nearly ten years ago. Her mother had died last month. Her sisters had turned into people whom she did not recognize. It seemed as if all they thought about and talked about was what they were going to get from the estate. But Jean didn't care about the estate. She only wanted to talk about her mother. She wanted to talk about how her mother would do anything for anyone. She wanted to talk about her mother's faith. She wanted to talk about her mother's gardening ability. That is exactly what we did. Two hours later Jean was still talking.
