It's a rocky place, a place along the road between more important destinations, a place where a young man travelling from the familiar security of his parent's household to an unknown future stops for the night. A stone provides a pillow to rest his head, and the young man, tired from his journey, falls asleep. Asleep, he has an amazing dream of promise and blessing: a ladder connecting from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending the ladder all the time -- a constant stream of messengers between God and creation.
