It was 1:30 p.m. and John was eager to go skiing with his dad. "John, would you please clean up your room before we go? I'll be back at 2 p.m." Thirty minutes. That would only leave time enough to shower and get all his gear in order. "Dad wasn't serious about the room anyway," John thought to himself. Two o'clock came. John figured his dad would be so eager to get on the slopes, he'd let the room slide. John was ready to go. But Dad didn't come. Ten minutes passed, which seemed like an eternity to John. He liked to get as much time as possible on the downhill runs. Looking at the mess in his room, he started to think that his dad might just delay longer in leaving until he cleaned up the room. Or cancel the trip altogether. He sighed and quickly began to pick things up. Just when his last t-shirt was in the drawer, he heard his dad coming up the stairs. "Hope my being late wasn't a problem for you," he said. "Are you ready to go?" "Now I am," John replied.
