It was 1:30 p.m. and John was eager to go skiing with his dad. "John, would you please clean up your room before we go? I'll be back at 2 p.m." Thirty minutes. That would only leave time enough to shower and get all his gear in order. "Dad wasn't serious about the room anyway," John thought to himself. Two o'clock came. John figured his dad would be so eager to get on the slopes, he'd let the room slide. John was ready to go. But Dad didn't come. Ten minutes passed, which seemed like an eternity to John. He liked to get as much time as possible on the downhill runs.
