It is unthinkable to desire...

It is unthinkable to desire that which is anything other than for the good of our children. This reality is part of Christ's teaching to his disciples about God's disposition toward the prayers of God's people.
Some years ago the case of Susan Smith and her sons captured the imagination of this nation. On October 25, 1994 her sons, 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alex, were reportedly abducted in an apparent car jacking near Union, South Carolina. Their mother made an urgent and tearful appeal on national television for the safe return of her children. Nine days later she confessed their murder to Union County sheriff, Howard Wells, admitting that the children had drowned in John D. Long Lake when she let the car in which they were passengers roll down a boat ramp. She was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 1995. For those familiar with her story her name continues to be synonymous with an unthinkable act.
