It seems that everyone agrees that caring for the needy is something Christians should do. The problem is that all too many of us do just enough to satisfy our conscience but not enough to satisfy someone's hunger.

I returned to a former parish in south Georgia to perform a funeral for an elderly member of that congregation. Although it meant flying half way across the country, the deceased son insisted that expense was not a concern.
