It is of interest to note that Jainists, a small religious group confined exclusively to India, separated early into two main sects. The fact that there are two distinct followings does not kindle our interest nearly so much as why so small a movement cannot sit around the same spiritual fire. We would suppose that differences of opinion eventually arose regarding some cardinal belief or perhaps a new group splintered away in search of further light. However, such is not the case. Actually, the two sects were created over the question of wearing clothes!
