It has been said that...

It has been said that Christianity is always one generation away from extinction. There is the possibility that Christianity could disappear from the world if it ever happened that one generation failed to pass on the faith to the next generation. We have not exactly reached that point yet, but we are certainly headed in that direction. For instance, back in 1952, it was assumed that just about everyone participated in a church. So back then only six percent of Americans had no religious training. In other words, fifteen out of every sixteen that you would meet had some kind of Sunday School education at some point in their lives. But today, six times as many people have never had any religious training. So when you meet someone now, there is a better than one in three chance that they have never set foot in a Sunday School. Jesus announces that the way to salvation is through knowing the Father. But fewer and fewer people in our nation are dedicated to that pursuit. -- Bowen
