It has been said that hotel restaurants are lonely places late at night. Business people travel, make presentations, or attend seminars during the day, but at night have nothing to do. Frequently, people gather in the hotel lounge, just to be with other people. While Ron needed time to reflect on the direction of his life, he did not want to be alone. He sat at the counter for an hour, reading the newspaper and ordering drinks when Fred sat beside him.
