It is called the Enchanted...
Illustration
It is called the Enchanted Highway -- that 32-mile stretch of asphalt ribbon in southwest North Dakota just off I-94. If it were real, it would be anything but enchanted. It would be downright frightening. There in the landscape are huge sculptures of grasshoppers (made out of fuel tanks and oil well tanks). They are a reminder of the natural tribulations that challenge farmers in their toils. Standing beneath one of these monstrosities, one can begin to get a sense of the dread that seizes the land when "the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter" swoop down upon a field.
