I sat outside a grocery store next to a street person, a thin, worn-looking woman whom I had seen around town during the last two years. I introduced myself. Her name was Marlene. She asked me who I was and what I did. I told her I was a pastor. Her face lit up, and she proceeded to tell me incident after incident in which God had answered her prayers, providing a meal, providing shelter, keeping her safe. She heartily witnessed to the many ways in which God watched over her. I asked her if she was hungry, and I gave her some of my food. As I left, she said, "See, God has answered my prayer for supper. God bless you."
