I remember the first tuxedo I ever wore (junior prom in high school), the most important day when I wore a tuxedo (my wedding), and the day I first bought a tux of my own (the "uniform" of a regional band in which I play). Dressing up is special and has an effect on how we behave. When I was in seventh grade at a public school in New York City, the boys had to wear a tie every day -- no doubt in an effort to control our behavior. So it's no wonder that we're commanded to clothe ourselves with compassion and such. God wants us at our best as we live out our lives for him and others.
